Leaf Photography
Use the leaves from your back garden to create stunning pictures with only the sun!
You will need:
- Some sugar paper (or craft paper)
- Clear tape
- Some leaves of your choice
Instructions:
- Collect some fallen leaves from your garden or public parks.
- Arrange the leaves as you wish on the surface of the sugar paper. Darker coloured paper (blue, green, purple, etc.) work best for this activity.
- Use a few small bits of clear tape to secure the stem and corners of the leaves on to the sugar paper. If you are using multiple leaves, make sure that there is space in between each leaf for a clearer picture.
- Tape the corners of the sugar paper to a window with the leaves facing towards the outside and leave for 24 hours. Make sure the leaves are flat against the window and that the window receives good sunlight.
- Carefully remove the paper from the window and slowly peel off the tape and leaves from the paper.
- Admire your leaf photograph!
Repeat with other types of leaves and even flowers to create a nature journal and store your pictures in a dark area.
